Want to know what grade you need on your next test to pass or reach a certain average? In this article, we explain how to calculate it.
Most Belgian schools use these rounding rules:
- 9.5 or higher is rounded to 10 (passing)
- 9.49 or lower remains a 9 (failing)
- In case of doubt, the class council decides on your final result
On the scale of 0-20, these are the important thresholds:
- 10/20 = Sufficient (50%) - the passing threshold
- 12/20 = Satisfaction (60%) - good performance
- 14/20 = Distinction (70%) - above average
- 16/20 = Great distinction (80%) - excellent
- 18/20 = Greatest distinction (90%) - exceptional
- 0-9/20 = Insufficient - not passed
Note: Some subjects or programs may have higher requirements!
